Hey Y'all! I am Sammy Jo Thome, the artist responsible for creating the works on this website. I like to experiment with all forms of art such as Photography, Drawing, Painting, and Digital Art. I graduated from Hawkeye Community College with an Associates of Arts Degree in Graphic Design. My goal is to express my creativity and show you the Art in My Heart while using bright colors, out of the box thinking, and different mediums. Please explore my work. I hope you feed the artist in your heart with my work! Thank You!

Bio Fun Facts:
My favorite color is blue, which, pretty much means all blues.

I love to use cool colors in my art. I like to watch anime in my spare time.

My favorite band is Within Temptation. I love their music because of how they can start out quietly and then all of the sudden it goes on full blast. It is just amazing how they compose their music. Their music is amazing at telling a story even if they didn’t have lyrics.

Hello, I am Samantha Thome an artist and graphic designer. The purpose of this site is for you to explore my work whether it is digital or in the form of other media. I wanted you to be able to learn about me as an artist like how I got started as an artist and how I decided to become a graphic designer.

From the time I could hold a marker, a crayon, or any other writing utensil I was drawing at my Crayola desk. I loved to draw and color as a kid. Pretty much if it had to do with art I wanted to do it or loved it. I really started to get into art when I was in grade school and middle school with an art teacher who would always come up with unique projects for us to do. I would love the challenge those type of projects would present. I think art and drawing really influenced my life when I was getting bullied in school. As the bullying progressed I found solace and therapeutic value in drawing. I found that drawing when I was upset made me feel better.

When I was in middle school and high school I got into the habit of creating flowers using different mediums. I guess you could say I had flowers on the brain. I have created flowers with tissue paper, construction paper, paint both acrylic and oil, mixed media, pen, pencil, and marker. I like to create my own style of flowers that could be considered abstract. I do like to create realistic flowers as well. I am very inspired by the beauty of flowers. The different shapes, lines, and colors that flowers provide us is amazing. The variety of flowers amazes me as well. No flower is the same as another and that is what is so inspirational about them.

I am inspired by the challenge of a project and my vision of what the project is going to look like when finished. I am inspired by artists like Helen Huang a vector artist and Yula Brodskaya a paper illustrator. I am really inspired by the quality and variety different artists provide in their work. I feel influenced by the colors and styles they use in their work. I an inspired by anime, manga, fashion, nature, flowers, and different cultures in the world. To be honest I am inspired by many things I see. I will see something and come up with an idea for a project and then I will forget it. Writing ideas down is a wise decision.

I think that I am the type of artist who will try different styles of art. I want to be the artist who stands out because of my quality and effort of my work. I want my art to be unique and different from other artists. I think I am still discovering the type of artist I am and want to be. The type of artist I want to be is the type of artist who has good quality work out there. I want to be the type of artist who is not afraid to be different from other artist and who is not afraid to show my point of view as an artist. I want to be the type of artist who tries different styles of art and explore different techniques to use as an artist.
